THE ETHEREAL ADVENTURES OF AUGUST EVERWARD

A Forthcoming Novel

8/8/88

08:08pm on the 88th Meridian West

The 88th Meridian West forms a great circle with the 92nd Meridian East. Hopkinsville, KY is where they were headed when he was born in the Land Between the Lakes, Golden Pond National Forest at the Energy Lake Planetarium.

"Tonight's Sky" was being presented when the planetarium was jilted by the laborious scream. A "Summer Star Party" was being held for amateur astronomers just outside, and they had no idea that steps aways a new star was being born.

"It's too early, he's too early!" she yelled. A canopy above her screams echoed her pain and fear, holding each frequency as it resonated against a projected perfect sky replica that would soon behold the eyes and attention of a few visitors, who stood now, gripped in the witness of life. A visiting astronaut who had curated the beautiful mandala portal that showed exactly where the planets and stars were at the exact moment, bent down to help soften the landing of August Everward, as he joined the planet.

His first screams, everyone's first witnessing, all under an exact representation of the cosmos in that instant, with his first breath, the energy of the planet shifted.

August was bold from the beginning. Almost proud to come early and be born in a planetarium. He felt held by the stars that first glimpse, cared for by the cosmos. He knew how to make a person smile and the smiles he generated that day made everyone feel better, even if they were a little frightened. He was in perfect health, despite his early arrival, and somehow the NASA Astronaut knew as much, looking into his eyes, which reflected the starts projected above.
